The Film Archive of Railway Signalling & People
Cutsyke
This film features Cutsyke signal box in Castleford, West Yorkshire. The signal box was built to replace its predecessor which was burned down. At one time, it controlled a junction with the Methley Joint line and connections to local collieries. It was the last location to have motor operated boom gates, but when filmed in 2024, these had been replaced by barriers.
This video is intended for viewing at a maximum screen resolution of 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high. Please be aware that viewing at a larger size may result in a loss of clarity and a ‘grainy’ appearance.
